Mission

SOAZCOAD is a humanitarian association of independent community organizations who may be active in all phases of disaster. Its mission is to foster efficient, streamlined service delivery to people affected by disaster, while eliminating unnecessary duplication of effort through cooperation in the four phases of disaster: preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation.

Overview

SOAZCOAD is not a competing or exclusionary organization. SOAZCOAD is intended to be a network for organizations active in disaster. Each SOAZCOAD member organization will maintain its own identity and independence while closely collaborating with other SOAZCOAD member organizations, interfaith and local, state or federal authorities.

SOAZCOAD is an umbrella organization for disaster relief organizations in all political subdivisions. It is intended to establish a minimum of three member organizations in each of the counties and to promote participation in those counties by including organizations in the surrounding unincorporated areas. Any SOAZCOAD member agency can attend any regional level SOAZCOAD meeting, as well as any meetings scheduled by their local county.
